Local Authority Amenity Tree Care. -

Specialist pruning of highway/street trees. Removal of dead & dangerous trees in both urban & rural areas. We carry out amenity tree care work for National Organisations including The National Trust & English Heritage, pruning and felling in sensitive areas and historic sites. We also carry out tree safety and woodland management work for the Woodland Trust

Domestic Tree Work -

All types of tree work undertaken for private householders. Pruning, felling, planting, hedge-cutting, stump-removal. Specialists in the dismantling of large & dangerous trees near buildings, Searches into Local Authority Tree Preservation Orders undertaken. T.P.O's. are issued  under the Town and Country Planning Act and are administered by local Planning Authorities. Any tree may be subject  to an order regardless of size and species, so before any tree work is carried out it is advisable to contact your local T.P.O. officer who will normally be based in the planning department

Trees may also be protected if they are situated within a Conservation Area. Any tree with a stem diameter of 7.5cms at 1.5m above ground level is automatically protected. Should you wish to carry out any work on such a tree you need to serve notice to the Local Authority who then have six weeks to grant permission for the proposed work or place a T.P.O on the specific tree.
Permission will normally be granted to carry out the work which can be justified for tree safety reasons or to enhance the aesthetic appearance of the tree. Trees which are dead, dying or dangerous can be removed but you must inform the Local Authorities who may insist on replacement planting. We will carry out these application free of charge                                                 

Planting & Establishment Work -
Planting, Spraying, Formative Pruning for amenity, commercial and domestic projects.

Site Clearance -
Clearance of trees/vegetation for construction/ development sites. Removal of debris & litter from site.

Tree Surveys & Inspections -

Reports provided on dangerous trees. Pre-planning surveys to BS 5837 for developers. Street tree inspections for local authorities.
Trees can fail for many reasons, which are not obvious to the untrained eye, if you are unsure then consult a trained arborist.
A wide range of fungi will decay the stems and roots of a tree leading eventually to failure.
Decay Detection (Things to Look for!) Mushrooms, Toadstools at the base of trees of a  buttress  roots and main stems indicate possible decay
